This Year's Beneficiaries
This year, the Servant Leadership Program’s Class of 2025 has chosen to partner with the George Washington Carver (GWC) Victory Garden and Farm, an initiative of Turn Around Columbus, for their senior project. As such, GWC Victory Garden and Farm will be the beneficiary of this year’s Uptown Tree Trail.
The mission of Turn Around Columbus is to empower youth with hope, opportunities, and the tools to succeed. The Class of 2025 wants to assist in this mission by creating a safe and welcoming environment for the surrounding community. They intend to develop a seating area for visitors and community members to gather and have fellowship and to bring awareness to the mission and pre-existing events of the GWC Victory Garden and Farm.
The Class of 2025 has encompassed its goals for its year-long project with the slogan “Encouraging growth one seed at a time.” This slogan reflects their desire to encourage the youth of Columbus and by extension the whole community while combating food insecurity and promoting mental health. By supporting the Uptown Tree Trail and George Washington Carver Victory Garden and Farm, you are helping to tend a garden of future prosperity and peace for the East Columbus community.
